Deposit Accounts

The Deposit Account service is ideal for your clients who hold a Discretionary Account or an Investment Managed Account with Hargreave Hale, or for clients who are frequent stock market traders.

It allows clients to hold money with Hargreave Hale, improving the efficiency of trading because cash does not need to be moved from an external account to Hargreave Hale in order for clients to execute trades. Interest is paid on the balances held and account holders receive statements plus a Consolidated Tax Voucher at the end of each tax year. Statements are issued every quarter except for Discretionary Accounts, Investment Managed Accounts and ISAs which are issued every six months, unless requested otherwise.

As a minimum for sterling accounts, interest will be paid at the prevailing rates paid on Royal Bank of Scotland PLC instant access deposit accounts. The levels of interest paid are available from any of our offices and are also published in the Document Library (all of the rates listed on this page are the gross rates). Interest will be credited on the fifteenth day of each month. This may be less than the interest we receive from the bank where client deposits are held. No interest will be paid in any particular month where the amount due to you would be less than 25 pence or currency equivalent.

We are able to hold deposits in other major currencies, however at present we do not pay any interest on these. Interest will be payable separately on balances in income cash accounts and capital accounts, and will only be paid on money that has been held in excess of 10 days.

On the basis of current UK tax legislation, UK income tax will not be deducted from interest paid where the account is held by a corporate body. For all other account holders UK income tax at the prevailing rate will automatically be deducted from interest. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information.
